National Integrity Manager Appointment

Ice Hockey Australia is pleased to announce that Catherine Arlove will join IHA in the newly created role of National Integrity Manager (NIM), effective 14 October 2024. This 2 year role will be shared with Curling Australia, and made possible through the National Integrity Capability Enhancement (NICE) Program grant provided by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), supporting the enhancement of integrity capability across Australian sports.

Catherine brings a wealth of experience across multiple fields, including elite sports, governance, and law. A three-time Olympian in judo and holding degrees in law, physiotherapy, and an MBA, Catherine has a proven track record in managing complex issues and fostering integrity within sporting organisations. Her diverse background, coupled with her passion for fairness and athlete wellbeing, makes her an excellent fit for this role.

Adam Woolnough, General Manager at Ice Hockey Australia, commented, "On behalf of Ice Hockey Australia’s Board and Members, I am thrilled to welcome Catherine to the sport of ice hockey. Through the support of Australian Sports Commission and Sports Integrity Australia, Catherine joins IHA at an exciting time in our history. Catherine will connect with Member Associations and Members to deliver our Sport Education Plan, a critical component of the grant. Catherine understands sport at all levels and will make an immediate impact to our governance, integrity, and overall safety of our membership base”.

The National Integrity Framework (NIF) was adopted by Ice Hockey Australia in October 2022 to promote safe, inclusive, and fair participation in sport. Catherine will play a key role in embedding the framework across all levels of our sport, reinforcing our dedication to the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct.

Catherine Arlove - "I am incredibly excited to join Curling Australia and Ice Hockey Australia as the National Integrity Manager. Having been deeply involved in sport as both an athlete and a professional, I know the value of integrity and fairness in creating an environment where athletes can thrive. I look forward to working closely with both organisations to ensure we maintain the highest standards of ethical conduct and safety across the sports.
