Led by Australia’s U18 Head Coach and IHA Player Development Coordinator, the camp will feature an exceptional coaching lineup, including guest coaches from across the country. In addition, current and recently retired national women’s team players will be in attendance, providing invaluable mentorship and firsthand insights into elite-level competition.

Camp Highlights:

·       12 hours of on-ice training focusing on skill development, game strategies, and high-performance techniques.

·       Off-ice testing and workshops designed to enhance strength, conditioning, and mental preparation.

This camp represents a significant step in IHA’s commitment to fostering the growth of women’s ice hockey in Australia, providing young athletes with the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the sport.

Growing Women’s Ice Hockey in Australia and Globally

Women’s ice hockey continues to experience rapid growth both in Australia and worldwide. With increased participation numbers and stronger development pathways, more young female athletes are being introduced to the sport than ever before.

The Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League (AWIHL) recently concluded another successful season, showcasing a high level of competition and demonstrating the rising talent across the country. The league’s continued expansion and increased visibility have played a vital role in promoting women’s ice hockey and providing elite-level opportunities for players to develop and compete at the highest domestic level.

On the international stage, Australia’s U18 Women’s team is set to compete in Division IB at the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship in January 2026, marking a significant milestone for the program to remain in the division for a third straight year. This achievement highlights the progress of Australian women’s ice hockey and the increasing competitiveness of the national team. The Junior Women’s Development and High-Performance Camp will be a crucial stepping stone for young players aspiring to represent Australia on the world stage.

Eligibility and Registration:

·       Open to players born in 2008 - 2011.

·       Camp costs $350 per player, with participants responsible for arranging their own flights, accommodation, and transportation between training sessions.
