Australian Teams: National Teams

The IHA participates in IIHF World Championships in four categories - World Senior Men, World Senior Women, World Junior Under 20 and World Youth Under 18.

Interested applicants wishing to be appointed to team official positions are required to submit their applications to their respective State Association and the IHA office prior to the IHA's Annual General Meeting. National Team Officials are appointed for 24 months with the intent of holding their positions for two World Championship trips, subject to review of performance.

Players are selected through observing their skills and performance at national championships, including state and national "try-out" camps.

Players must be an Australian Citizen holding a valid Australian Passport and have participated in IHA national competitions for at least two years.

Overseas born players who wish to play for Australia must meet the following criteria:

• have a valid International Transfer Card (ITC) or Letter of Approval from the country in which they were born that was approved and dated by the IIHF at least two years before the start of the Championship in which he/she wishes to participate;
